At doddl we take your data and privacy very seriously and will only use your personal information to provide the products and services you have requested from us. We are committed to respecting and protecting your privacy and want you to feel safe when you give us your personal details. This Data Privacy Statement will inform you of the information we gather and how it is used and for long we maintain your data.

Our principal business is to provide advice and arrange transactions on behalf of clients in relation to Mortgage Products and Associated Insurances. We are a mortgage credit intermediary and mortgage intermediary firm. We act as the service provider between you, the client, and our product providers of the leading financial institutions.

Types of personal data held

We gather record and hold information on you in order to provide you with a product/service. All information is required to provide you with a professional service and/or mortgage, pension or insurance product(s) will be recorded. Any information you provide about other people such as second applicants please ensure you have their consent to us using that information or that you are allowed to use that information.

Information on your physical or mental health

With your consent and to provide you with a life assurance or income protection product we collect and process information you have provided us in relation to your health. We also use this information if you require and request a change to a product/service. 

Information from the website

When you undertake the remortgage challenge on our website or contact us via our website, we use this information to contact you and provide you with a suitable product/service. 

Information provided by 3rd parties

Information obtained through agreements with third parties such as Financial Institutions/Lenders, Life Assurance Companies

We use this information to help us offer you suitable products and services. 

Use of the information we gather

When we collect personal information about you, we tell you why we are asking for the information and what we intend to do with it. You will have the option of not providing the information, although, in these instances, you may not be able to access certain products/services. Our legal basis reason for processing your data is in order to be able to provide you with a retail financial product. We require the information from you to assist our firm to ascertain your actual needs/requirements. 

Retention of your Personal Data

Data will not be held for longer than is necessary for the purpose(s) for which they were obtained. Upon lapsing or cancellation of a policy our company policy is to retain our client data for 7 years in order to fulfil our obligations under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Consumer Protection Code 2012 and our obligations under the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010. 

Sharing information with third parties

Personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us, including the data collected in relation to contracts of insurance with insurers for which we act as a mortgage, insurance and investment intermediaries. We share this data with the product providers we hold agencies with. We do not share your data with any other 3rd party. 

Data security

Mortgage Horizons Limited’s intent is to strictly protect the security of your personal information, only use the data for the purpose that is was collected for and carefully protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration or destruction. We have taken appropriate steps to safeguard and secure the information we collect from you.

How we protect your information

The internet is not a secure medium. However, we have put in place various security procedures as set out in this policy. Firewalls are used to block unauthorised traffic to the servers and the actual servers are located in a secure location which can only be accessed by authorised personnel. We also keep your information confidential. Our internal procedures cover the storage, access and disclosure of your information.

You are entitled to know whether we hold information about you and, if we do, to have access to that information and have it corrected if it is inaccurate or out of date.

Marketing

We require your consent to market new products and services. (For existing relationships, we will not market new products or services to you but, per the chart above, we may contact you in relation to the existing product or service we provided you, for example, to discuss a change in your mortgage interest rate or a change to your insurance policy). For new products and services, we will ask you to consent at the beginning of the relationship. 

Additional processing

If we intend to further process your personal data for a purpose other than for which the data was collected, we will provide this information prior to processing this data.

Mortgage Horizons trading as doddl may change this privacy policy from time to time. When such a change is made, we will post a revised version online. Changes will be effective from the point at which they are posted. It is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically so you’re aware of any changes.
