Mortgage advisor

Job Description:

This role is that of Mortgage Advisor within a busy mortgage brokerage working with clients to finance the purchase of properties and switching of existing mortgages. Working within a team of advisors and in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will be a strong people person, team player and be able to manage a portfolio of clients.

  • Advising new clients on mortgage options available to them
  • Management of the Mortgages processes, preparation, processing and management of mortgage applications with relevant providers ensuring accurate entry of data uploaded to internal/external system
  • Tracking of the new business pipeline ensuring efficient turnaround of proposal
  • Liaising with clients and lenders throughout the mortgage completion process
  • Ensuring client files are complete and in compliance with policies and procedures before filing
  • Dealing with all administration queries arising on a day to day basis regarding client applications and keep the manager updated on all relevant matters arising and potential sales opportunities
  • Provide full administration support in all aspects of new business and for existing client reviews
  • Maintain and manage the CRM system and manage the new business pipeline ensuring it is fully up to date at all times.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as they arise that may be required in order to grow the business.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong client focus is essential

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications – Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Appropriate Industry Qualification

Advantageous:

  • Knowledge of Anti Money Laundering requirements and compliance procedures.
  • Previous experience in working in a busy Financial Services brokerage.

New Business Manager – Mortgages

Working within a busy mortgage brokerage this role is to manage all new business opportunities. The successful candidate would manage a professional team of qualified advisors who offer service excellence and technical expertise to mortgage and insurance clients. Working within a team of advisors and in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will be a strong people person, team player and have a proven track record of success in a sales or advisory role.

Objectives of this role

  • Work with the wider management team to strategize, implement, and oversee processes for increased productivity and new business growth
    Manage employee activities, ensuring service excellence
    Establish and grow relationships with relevant partners, banks, insurers, legal teams
    Provide data and insights into successful campaigns
    Maintain plan for forecasting, targeting, and attaining company goals on growth
  • Duties to include but not limited to –
  • Managing the new business pipeline ensuring new leads are engaged with promptly and promoting service excellence
  • Continuous review of the new business process to assess where changes can be made to allow for more efficient engagement and more effective communication
  • Ensuring customer focus remains at the centre of all that we do, promoting our core values and behaviours throughout the business; simplicity, customer champion, human, challenging the norm with a future focused approach
  • Managing a team of qualified advisors and support staff, this includes managing pipelines and resources plus adding new hires
    Ensuring the CRM is updated and pipeline is accurately reflected and compliance met and recorded
  • Training and development of the team to ensure they remain the strongest performing advisors in the industry
  • While the role does not require the successful applicant to be involved directly in marketing for lead development there is an expectation that the successful candidate will be involved in new business development through the key product areas within the business
  • Leading out projects to further our mortgage proposition such as working with legal partners, home buying helper service, potentially for savings and earlier stage products and incentives related to new business
  • Working as part of the wider management and leadership team on new business projects as required
  • Mentor, develop and support the new business team

Required skills and qualifications

  • 8 years+ experience in banking, management and business development
  • Experience in developing business strategy
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Superior leadership skills, with focus on employee coaching and development
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends
